ABOUT US

Changing lives

We have begun a radical, life changing lacrosse program in South Central Los Angeles. This is an area more familiar with gangs and racial tension than with lacrosse. Most of the high school lacrosse teams in the LA area are at non-Los Angeles Unified School district schools. Establishing a broad reaching program in South Central Los Angeles has done wonders to initiate diversity in the Southern California lacrosse community. We are helping the sport to grow and enriching the lives of not only the children directly involved with the program, but also everyone involved with lacrosse in Southern California by increasing exposure to different, but neighboring communities.

Experience on an athletic team fosters cooperation and discipline in a way that many of the kids from this area do not understand.

We are bringing about important breakthroughs for our participants by providing them with a beneficial after school outlet. Study hall is on Wednesday. Minimum G.P.A. is 2.5. Community service is mandatory once a month.

LAX in L.A. is unique in Southern California. The community needs more constructive activities for kids to keep them under control and out of trouble. We intend to help players achieve on and off the field. We want the players to be able to discover their ability to transform their lives and their communities through the skills that they will receive by being involved in our program. We want to make a difference to all those involved. If we can help a few students per year to get out of the cycle of poverty that pervades life in this area, then we have made a HUGE impact.
